Giving me the US prices is completely fucking irrelevant seeing as I don't live in the states, also $999 USD is £702 GBP, but I can get the CS4 master collection on amazon.co.uk for £443.

You wouldn't use CS3 to create 3D models, you'd use a 3D modelling package, like Blender, C4D, 3DS, Maya, etc. Sure, CS4 might offer some 3D tools, but it's nowhere near as good as a dedicated 3D software package. The only thing it's really good for is compositing 3D models you've imported in.
