Oh lol I have to admit that I have never ever used the AI servo focus on my camera even though I know what it is for and that I would have to use it when taking pictures of moving objects I guess I just never thought about it when I was walking around taking pictures so the results were really crappy

.
Oh I think I have seen that lens and I believe it's one of the cheapest L lenses. Well I guess it would be a really nice lens for shooting wildlife (lol that sounds so cruel). You better post some pictures and tell us how you think about it after you have bought it

course I may will get it as well in the future

. Yeah I do agree that when taking pictures of moving objects USM is almost a must.
haha well you should use it more often - i only use one shot focus if the subject is perfectly still, if the subject is moving just a bit ill always try to switch to AI. With your camera id be shooting more action its 6.5fps!!!! That is really fast - 6x10mp pictures before you can say 'six and a half frames per second'
Yeh its very well priced, more than the 70-200 f4 but less than the 70-200 f2.8 and its IQ is better because its a prime making it and increadible lens.
however... this is were the problems start im going to be running around trying to make up for the lack of versetility and trying to get a good frame. Plus 200mm on a 1.6 crop body is around 320mm and that is a LOT to hold steady without IS. I think i might have to regret that argument about tripods if i buy this lens

Saying this its a WILDLIFE lens, and WILDLIFE and SPORTS move very fast, so im gonna have to use a very fast shutterspeed to keep up with them. and its 2.8!! Loads of light

Another problem arises when i look at buying the lens. Last year i could have bought it NEW less than what i am now looking at paying for it 2nd hand. Since the UK's pound sterling has fallen so much against other currencys the price of all camera equipment has gone up.
...so it might be a while before i get this lens
