I don't think you will find a very good camera cheaper than a Rebel 450D[/QUOTE]

yea I'm really liking it. How much does a compatable macro lens cost?

Any sorry for being such a "noob" but what type of lense would I use for everyday photo taking? Any guides that you could point me to would be helpful smile.gif

Everyday shooting is kit-lens territory, at least for me. Something that starts decently wide (17mm) to portrait length (70mm) is a good choice. If you're into street photography, a walk around lens could be a telephoto so you can keep your distance. Your everyday photo lens will depend on what kind of photography you do on a day to day basis, but it is most likely a kit lens based on what you've said thus far.

The 60mm Macro is around 400. The 100mm Macro is about 500 dollars. The 180L is over $1000. The primary difference is that the focal length provides you with more working distance for things like insects, which are scared off quite easily. Keep in mind that longer focal lengths means you're more likely to get a blurry shot if you try to hand hold the camera. The 60mm Macro is the best choice if you're on a budget since it can also double as a good portrait lens.

before you go off buying expensive lens' dont listen to the people who say you need to upgrade your lens right away after your purchase of your dslr.

The kit lens that comes with your 450D will take some great photos and learn you a lot about the camera. You should experiment with all the features of the camera, different apertures vs shutterspeeds, how to create different depths of fields, different metering modes, etc. After you've used the kit lens for a while u'll have a good idea of what sort of photography you need a lens for. The kit lens is actually really good for macros.

Any thread created by: TheBlackRose66, Qhotex and myself will usually have pictures taken with a 450D inside so go take a look if you want some samples.

OK. thanks smile.gif For the first while, I`m just looking to get a starter kit, and once I learn more about photography, then I may buy other lenses.

Also keep in mind that you can use macro tubes with the kit lens if you were so inclined to make your own macro kit. Just make sure you get the IS version of the kit lens.
