The effect is nice, however I don't think it could be as good if he was using Photoshop. (I'm giving him advice, he should try Photoshop imo)

Hence why I said there is no substitute.

I use GIMP, and will still use it. I did not want to make a argue about what program is best. I like GIMP right now and you like PS.

if everyone used photoshop then there would be a limited number of features that everyone could use. Photoshop is properbly one of the best consumer programs but it would be boring if everyone use only it.

I will sell some of my photos when I am moving to an other city. I can not use PS if I did not buy it. GIMP is free of use and it makes it perfect for me to use.
