Well. Not that. xD
Correct me if the canon 450D do not make grain at ISO1600. tongue.gif

uh I've heard that the eos 400D/XTI start to get image noise at ISO 800 and at ISO 1600 the noise would be very apparent. The 450D may be newer but from what I have read the ISO performance of it is pretty similar to 400D. But I could be wrong though since I have never taken any photos with either 400D and 450D at ISO 1600. Do you want to post an untouched photo taken by your camera at the highest ISO?

from the few high ISO shots ive taken, at ISO 800 there is no apparent noise until you look really close and at ISO 1600 its not too bad - and when you apply the noise reduction feature of the camera it takes away a lot of the chroma noise. Its definatly a lot better than other cameras in it's class. I think there are some samples of it's noise on dpreview.

make sure ur in a semi-auto, program or manual mode.
menu >> settings tab 3 >> Custom Functions(C.Fn) >> C.Fn #4 >> High ISO speed noise reduct'n >> 1:on

C.Fn #3 = Long exp. noise reduction

the camera will proberbly be best at removing chroma noise and the software at luminance noise

but id only use the nr of the camera if i was doing really really dark shooting, or somthing special like lightning/fireworks.
