yes if you want more bokeh you would select a smaller f/ number

I've noticed that with the higher the iso, there is some grain/noise to the background.

the flash on my camera is horrible for close shots, so is there any way i can make some artificial lighting pretty cheaply that still looks nice?

Yeah. Higher iso = much more noise. I basically take all my shots around 100-200 and rely on low shutter speed + aperture + possibly flash to deal with it.

he's right


the only time i increase my ISO above 200 is when i need to extend the range of my flash, or occasionally in night shots

hmmm, well im going to go outside a bit and experiment.

too bad its so crappy out!

for some reason even with aperture at f/4 or lower everything in the distance is still pretty visible, barely blurred at all...it just looks like its not focused on.
