hah. Well basically I just check through my running processes a little now and than and since I know which ones I use, and which ones windows use I quickly notice something new. When I find something new I check it out on the net and see what it is. If it's harmfull than I first try removing it manually and if that fails I move onto HiJackThis (best prog ever). I do it this way as I feel anti-virus programs actually tend to mess your comp up more than they aide. They always want to delete .dlls they don't think I'm using etc or random progs I make myself. They also eat my cpu :C
