Thanx Futurama!

Hmm, this is thinking really far in the future.... but if i eventually want a really nice lens for my 450D, coz i really like zoomy zoomy which lens would you get?
it has to be good for action photography and it has to be in a reasonable price, £200-£400 (no more than 500 US Dollars let's say)

What would you recommend?

hmm lol It'll be a lil bit hard finding a good zoom lens for action photos for that amount of money maybe you should save some more and buy EF -70-200 2.8 L IS USM lol it cost like 1800 dollars or something but its probably one of the best for sport photography.

well there's the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens:

and Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 lens:

I am not sure if the EF-S 55-250 IS lens has fast enough focus for action photos... maybe someone else can help you with that one

there are also EF 28-135 3.5/5.6 IS USM or ef-s 17-85 IS USM but they cost a lil bit more than 500
haha well when it comes to lenses its a jungle out there and if you want some good lenses it will definitely cost ya tongue.gif

i dont really need IS for moving subjects, because it would counter-act the movement i make when tracking an object, right?
but that USM thing, does that actually work?

some more expensive canon lenses with IS have a mode two IS...

Quote

The included Mode-2 IS is designed for panning. Use it for a subject moving in one direction - pan the camera with the subject. Good subjects for Mode-2 IS include a bicyclist or a vehicle. Blur the background with motion - leave the subject sharp with good depth of field.

lol as I said IF you want a good lens you gotta cough up more money. maybe you can work more or if you currently got no job find a job and then work your butt off for a month or two, like what I am doing now tongue.gif

hmm well I guess there is no such thing as entry level action lens I mean if you want to get a good action lens you might as well get one of those 70-200 L lenses with IS
the cheapest one being the EF 70-200 f/4.0 L IS USM. well maybe Antichrist or Astragony will post here and tell you which would be the best for ya. course I have only read about a few reviews on those lenses and never really owned or even seen one in the real life - lol but I can tell you this my 17-85 f/4-5.6 IS USM is definitely not a good lens for taking action pics because of the narrow aperture

@Chantal: I know what you mean about why you dont like those photos of his cat and dog, I didnt like it either when I first saw them and especially his signature I mean it just look weird having a cat on top of a dog and it just doesnt look normal but I guess its what makes it kinda funny, in a way.
