which is the best lens?

-Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS Lens
-Canon EF 55-200mm f4.5-5.6 USM II Lens
-Canon EF 75-300mm f4-5.6 USM III Lens

e/ oh and which of the lens above would be best for action photography, like capturing a bird, or fast car, etc

I think the 55-250 IS should be the best among the three

someone posted some kind of a review of it with test pics and all on here not long ago just go to page two or three in this forum and you'll probably find it

i think it would be nearly impossible to shoot fast moving objects with the 55-250mm since af is so slow, allso is wont help when target is moving.

so you think getting a USM instead of IS will help a lot for fast moving objects? unless i wanna manual focus which i wont coz i dont even know what manual focus means, well i do but i cant do it.

so which lens would you recommend for me within a budget of £200 for my 450D?

i dont know what kind of focus are on those other ones, usm might be slower on other lenses and i only got experience from usm in prime lenses. I had this lens, but sold it since it doesent fit to my new camera, didnt use it much enyways since im not big fan of telezooms, allso the slow af pissed me off too much and when its off focus you cant see enything clearly thru the lens, so it can be pretty annoying. 55-250 is maybe the best in image quality at that price range, but you cant get expect everything to be good so cheap. Is only helps on your hands shake and if you shoot moving objects you will have to use so fast shutterspeed that your hand shake wont show enyways. When you use like 200mm+ you need to use like 1/80(or like less than 1/110 if your hands arent super steady(optimium would be same part of a second that u got millimeters, like 1/100 with 100mm)) without is since with so much zoom little motion shows more easilly, but with is you can hold the camera about 1/40sec with 200mm, and with 1/40th sec you dont need to move that fast to show motion on subject.

If your not shooting at bright daylight all the time and you want to capture fast moving objects you kinda need some lens with f-2.8 and fast af, but they cost more.

not every usm focus really fast, iv heard it can be supricingly slow on some telezooms, no idea how slow its gonna be compared to normal focus motor on 55-250. I bet you can read it from some reviews.

Heres desent site for user reviews, but remember that some of these kind of user reviews are written by some guy whos a newbie and might think for example that af is fast or image quality is superb if he only used kit lens. But if you read few pages you will see what comments you shouldnt listen.

You should allso look at reviews made by some professionals, but if theyr only tested it fast or in some studio they might not know as much from it than someone that has been using the lens for long time in real life situations
