Nobody was comparing the two. He's getting the 50 f/1.8 and saving up the the L. I was just telling him that he could save some $ buying online.

hehe didnt really read the first post.

but I think if he orders a product from Amazon.com (assuming its based in the US) he will probably have to pay for import tariff

+ I spend my money easily, an extra $20 ain't much for me.

(this you say you found for $89, and with tax, shipping and handling and any other fees
to get it from US to Canada, would be about $110. I'm paying $130 for the lens here.
