yep Rebel XS = 1000D; Rebel XTI = 400D; Rebel XSI = 450D

according to Dpreview the XS/1000D is either a stripped down 450D or a 'reheated' 400D

hehe I know a lil bit about the Rebel series since it wasn't long ago I had some hard time deciding if I should get XSI/450D or 40D and I have also used the 400D a few times, now I am glad that I got 40D because of the superior high ISO performance.

lol well good luck with the lens part. most of the good lenses cost more than the camera you are going to get...
the lens I am using now, EF-S 17-85 f/4.0-5.6 IS USM which is just a middle range zoom lens cost around 630 Canadian Dollars dry.gif

well the 50mm 1.8 may be a very cheap and sharp lens but the build quality is extremely poor I have even heard about it suddenly falling apart lol
I would rather spend 370 dollars and get 50mm f/1.4 USM biggrin.gif

The canon is regular 699.99.

By Christmas I'll have enough to buy a 1000$ + lens as well, and I will buy the Canon now.

But I'm still thinking perhaps the Nikon D60 :S

I mean if he already got Nikon lenses it wouldnt make any sense to buy a Canon.
personally I would go for either XTI or XSI than XS or D60 and save money for a good lens instead of getting an expensive wireless trigger

Lol, but I would be able to afford a lot of lenses in the future.
