WELCOME TO THE D2JSP PHOTO CONTEST!!!

Congrats to Rawesome (Aka: tghavockid) for winning last week's theme, Everything October.

Rules & photo theme:

1. The photo must be taken recently to encourage you all to pick up your cameras! I will accept photos taken within a month or so. I don't really care, just have some fun with it and play fair.
2. Post your photo in this thread for submission
3. There is no prize, this is for fun.
4. Lessen the photoshop editing, to make it fair/fun for everyone else. Not saying to not use it, but don’t be excessive!

Each photo contest will run 14 days, but lately I've been making them longer. The entry thread will open on Sunday night and close one Sunday night. Sunday night the voting thread will open and will close the following Sunday night, or sooner if there are few entries. At that time a winner will be chosen by who received the most votes. The winner will be notified via PM or by post in voting thread. New thread might take a few days to be put up, but that's okay. I will then extend the due date because of that. And you can use photos, if fits the theme, that were taken a little before (like a month or something).

So let’s get it on!

Closes: Sunday, November 30

Theme: Reflections

POST WHAT YOU WANT AS NEXT THEME!

So, I am most likely going to change the voting system here in next vote. I am working on getting a Mod to post up the photos in the Donor Forum section as a poll. And it will run for 1 week. If I can get this organized really well I think it will work good with strangers voting. I know most of you do not have Donor Forum access, and I think I almost like it this way  The idea is still new, and not set into place yet. I can for see a lot of complaints about this... but I hope not. Let me know what you think, I am curious.

I dont like the idea >.< I like that everyone who votes here at least has some idea of what makes a good photograph. You post photos in the donor forum, 98% of the people are going to be like HERP PURTY FOTO DERP.

imo thats not bad idea for a change. its not like you will learn here smth with votes.
i think when Omar was running this contest then he made it anonymous which wasnt that bad idea either.

Yeah, I kind of would like the change, for a change, lol.

I did like the anonymous part a lot ... but I do not want to make time to do it. If someone else wants to, by all means.

The only thing I don't really like about it being done in a private forum that most of us can't access is the fact that we won't be able to see the results or see what people say about each image.

All we'll get is some random tally at the end.

Part of the voting process I like is when some people actually say what they do or do not like about pictures when voting.

Yeah, that definitely went through my thought process, that most of you would not see the DF poll. And of course the people voting that don't know photography.

Perhaps I could do it just for fun, while keeping the real vote thread here. I am more curious than anything on what they'll say lol

I do like the idea of having outsiders vote.
People wouldn't voting for the person but for the image, and not because they are not photographers, that they don't know how to appreciate a good photo.
Plus, since there is no prize, what does it change that you win or not?
Having the DF vote for the trial version, could bring something new to this contest.
You would get 50+ votes, unlike 10-15 in here, by people who know you....

I really doubt anyone in here votes based on the fact that they "know" someone. None of us even talk to each other outside of these contests. I vote based on a lot of things, knowing someone isnt one of them.

I am not pointing fingers at anyone, but every photocontest in the world are (and must be) anonymous.
Here you know who you vote for, and you know who voted for who.
I would be fun to see if the general public would have the same votes as our little group, don't you think?
I don't think anyone in here would feel threatened by the general public having a say on a FREE contest :D
