I stand by the amazing for that price  Maybe if I had money to burn Id go for the 1.4 or 1.2, but Im honestly satisfied with it. Great bokeh, sharp..only thing I hate is the cheap plastic. Ive literally broken it 3 times and had to replace it. But if you dont have kids to wreck your shit, that wont be an issue.

I just got the equivalent for my Nikon and love it. I would've done the 1.4 as well, but definitely too expensive for me. It's crazy how expensive some lenses are. Makes me think I'll never fully upgrade. Should be good for awhile though.

Whoever said it's bad is retarded. It's the best lens you can get for under $400 IMO. And it's only a third of that.

sad but true.. good lenses are very expensive, but you don't have to buy the best if you are good enough. I know somebody who bought a Canon EOS 1D and really expensive lenses..etc.. and the 90% of his pictures was overexposed and he says he is a "pro photographer" :DD

Its a little soft at 1.8, imo. I used to shoot wide open all the time, but recently Ive been keeping it at 2.8. I still get great bokeh, and the photos are tack sharp.
