I think you did a really nice job on this, the light is interesting and the selective coloring fits the image :)

The picture itself is really nice, but anytime I see selective color I always think "amature". No offense.

None taken, I kind of think the same. The problem was that without some color it nearly seemed too flat. I am going to toy with the colors a bit more, maybe not a full b/w and see what happens.

I love black and whites. Try it completely black and white and maybe just heavy in the contrast? Without distorting it of course.

Everyone has to try selective coloring sometime in their hobby :) It is over done of course, but I don't frown upon it when I see it. I like yours, you did pretty good imo, and like MotherOfTwo said, it fits! And not to mention, the picture itself is good as well.

i personally think the colored lips look super flat. looks like you painted yourself versus taking a picture and making everything but the lips b/w.

I kind of agree, I'm looking into ways to bring that to life a bit more. I think some of her lips were out of focus, creating this issue.
