I got my Nikon D5100 a couple months ago, and I'm still getting used to it, but improving. Wanted to post some pictures here for C&C. Prior to this, I mostly used a lame point-and-shoot for pictures. I also have a 35mm Film SLR, but haven't used it in quite a long time.

what for u made first pic with flash ?

I honestly have no idea. It's one of the first pics I was taking with the camera, and I just had the flash on, lol.

#5 was hard. I couldn't get a good angle because it was so flat, but thanks for feedback. I'm really trying to improve my food photography.

1- cat pics = a no no
2- bland and boring, lacks colour
3- best of the lot, like the colours and composition is good, focus maybe shouldve been on the relish/meat closest to the camera - only real prob here tho is the polystyrene plate
4- litlle too much cut off from the left, bland colours and slightly over exposed, the good part is the sauces in the bg
5- just dont like it
6- is good, maybe try slightly higher camera lvl, DoF could be a bit bigger, almost seems the focus is the fork, reflections on the "jam" are disturbing
7- std flower pic, not bad not great, try different compositions/crops
8- its ok, nothing really wrong
9- correct alignment/distortion, and needs a little more on the left
10- same as 8

i would like 6 if it was moved over to the right a bit more so that you can see the point of the pie. i think if it was focused on the pie as well it would of looked better.
i really like 7 though.
and 9 would of been a good shot of it was moved over to the left a bit so you could see the arches more
all these are my opinion though, im just starting as well so yea take it how you wish
