I am looking to buy a camera, a good one. Can anyone recommend?
I don't really have a budget but I guess below 1300?

Are you looking for a point and shoot or a digital SLR? You could look into the Canon 60d for that budget. I think it's around 1000 with the 18-135 IS lens which is a pretty nice kit lens.

if you want an awesome point and shoot get the Canon G12, around $500
if you wanna go dslr the the nikon d90 is the best value for money imo - nikon are superior in the low end dslr's

'm just looking for a camera to take pictures. It's nothing professional but we'd like a nice camera quality to make for scrap books as well.
Easy to carry around etc.

i think you can buy a cheap 200$ or less point and shoot if youre just looking for one to make scrapbook/memories.
