what about the theme idea I posted on dream's thread about the possible theme being flowers? I think it would be challenging but is still specific enough for everyone to be able to follow... I think I'd like a theme like that...

only flowers here will be ice flowers on my damn igloo window and Chantals too..

read the post I made before you say I suggested flowers silly goose I didn't suggest flowers. I just posted my idea in that thread because it was the first thread I saw

Kate, read the actual post silly! here I'll post it right here so you don't misunderstand me. I didn't say I wanted flowers as the theme. this is what I said

"why can't we do a theme more like... monochrome on black..

here are the specific details for those who need more specifics.

1) the photo must be properly exposed with no blown highlights and encompasses a wide tonal range and no filled in shadows.
2) the photo must be taken on a black background or one that is so dark it would be considered black even in different monochrome conversions.
3) the subject of the photo doesn't matter as long as the photo follows the rules above.
4) no pulling from archives. photo must be taken specifically for this contest.
5) oh and I almost forgot... no excessive post processing just to mask poor lighting or to not follow the guidelines...

I think what we need is a challenge to your skill and try to better your skills in photography by giving you specific guidelines to follow. I think this would also help with practicing proper lighting in a photo (not that many of you don't already know how to properly lgiht one so this should be fairly simple )
