if you plan to upgrade to full frame in the future get a prime, if not get the zooms as on a cropped body either are really good

the size of your sensor.

a full frame sensor gives you better iq than a cropped one. most lower end cameras have a cropped sensor. 1.6x for canon and 1.5x for nikon and I don't know about the other brands lol the bigger your sensor the more MP as well as the less chance of hot pixel noise

I'm waiting for eek to come and blow everyone away with his awesome explanations. I may be wrong

so the 24mm 2.8 or the 35mm 2.0

edit: or maybe the super wide angle 20mm 2.8

What camera body do you have again? Like a D3100 or a D5000 right? So you have a cropper. I personally wouldn't get a 35mm FX format lens for a cropper body. 35mm is a sexy range, but on a cropper body it turns into more of a 50 and that isn't really wide... I'd get the 24 personally.

Edit: And keep in mind, wide angles are NOT used to fit as much as you can into a photo. They are for getting physically closer to your subject matter. So anything wider than 24-35mm isn't necessary for landscape photography.
