I can get the d90 today or wait a month or two and get the d7000. Is it that much better of an upgrade?

Probably not so idk. Might get a lower end canon for now and upgrade to a higher end later on.

If you're getting lower end, stick with Nikon. I wouldn't go Canon unless you get a xti2+

An xti2 makes a superb backup camera, and canon's resale value is much higher than Nikon. Besides, the XTI models are really new, so resale value should stay high.

Uhh.. You mean T2i? I don't think they made an XTi 2 yet.
