what macro effect do you mean?

thanks. gotta love the freely adjustable graduated filters on photoshop raw for landscapes ^_^

I really like the warm colors in #3 and the composition of the silhouette in 4 :)

Looks like there is some sort of "panning", like a movement towards the centers.

I thought this was done on purpose but maybe it's just some lens distortion from your camera.

I think that can be obtained by putting a lens in front of compact. My camera doesn't make anything like that.

ah its just that my point and shoot cant zoom when in macro mode, so its 25mm full frame equivalent and naturally gets some distortion, but i think it might be more of the wide angle macro perspective.

btw is the #4 too dark? i adjusted levels and all on uncalibrated monitor and just had to guess the right angle(contrast etc) on screen

I don't think it's too dark, it looks exactly what I would see if I was there and not looking at a picture.
I prefer dark as 4 than light as 1 ;)
