Hey guys, this topic is because of the low submissions (so far, buy no much time left) to the 5th contest.

The themes till now have been OK, but for the future my "wish list" would be easier concepts where people could find creativity with no brain effort.

I explain myself:

in many of the last themes, participants got lost, many complaints on the relevance of the entries. I believe that as almost all of us are not professionals or have no time to full around with the camera, an easier theme would allow more entries, and the quality of the picture will make the difference anyway.

Examples could be:

clouds, shadows, portraits, etc. These are crap examples, the winner will take a moment thinking on it, but my idea is to keep it simple to not scary the possible participants. And than, the most creative and qualitative solution, will win.

Agreed...
I am not a pro and I know perfectly well I lack imagination and creativity.
But the latests 3 contests I stayed out cause I just had no idea what to shoot... :(
Sometimes also the season has a strong limit on shooting opportunities.

Same here.

Also I dont have the time or resources to go find or create some strange theme o_o

I fully agree with this idea, maybe having something simpler would get me to pick up my camera again.

What about isolation? I think that can be interpreted in many ways :)

It can be about isolating a human from the world around, and it can be about isolating your subject from your background, etc etc.

I think that would be a great theme with a LOT of opportunities!

Just an idea that popped up :)

i think this is a good idea from you
maybe some "ease" themes quold be something like: plants, every day things, trees, cars, animals etcetc.
those "easy" themes will create the opportuniti to experiment with pphotografi and ideas, composition, etc due to the ease to find sobject, you will have to think more on the concept

this :D

I admit never entered because I was too lazy and had other things to do aswell.

As for the suggestions for 'easier" themes I would say broader themes would be better. For example: People.

Well, I remember a year or two ago when they had official sticky contests, many of the themes were as you suggested: Simple and comprehensible.

Examples: Blue, Dark, Light, Clouds, Landscape, Urban, Water.

But of course, those who do understand the depth of photography can add more complexity to these themes.

I believe this is win-win: Simple and vague enough for creativity and variation.
