Ok I was bugging you over and over with my flower/trees/plants pictures this summer...
I had submitted 10 photos for the contest, half of them were trees, and the other half were wild plants/flowers.

Last night was the 'vernissage' where they were announcing the winners and presenting the photos.
They had received 468 pictures, and they chose 12 out of them.

Out of the 12, 6 had a mention from the Nature Center, 3 had a mention from the Jury, and 3 winners (500$, 250$ and another 250$)

I am extremely proud that 2 of my pictures were chosen in the 12

One got a mention from the Nature Center:

And this one got a mention from the Jury:
With this I won a year family membership to the Nature center in Mont St-Hilaire (value of 100$) :D

Those 2 are the last pictures I would have thought would be chosen out of the 10 I sent, but I guess they were liked by the 3 person jury!

The jury consisted of a college photography teacher, a biologist and I can't remember the 3rd person but it was related to photography.
All the pictures chosen had very good light use.
The winner had also won last year, he is a professional and his pictures were totally awesome!!
They were showing almost all the pictures submitted also on a big screen, and I still can't believe they didn't all win!
Great talent was exposed!

Oh well, I was extremely happy and encouraged to enter the next contest!
The next one is about rivers, ponds and lakes....
I can submit 5 pictures per seasons.
I'll try not to be at the last minute like I did this year, and submit the maximum I can!
Be all prepared for my bugging you about my water pictures now

And thank you again everyone for your help!

I had never posted that one here I believe...
It is one I had taken with my little Powershot, before I got my xsi...
I was looking through my older files for some wild flowers at the last minute....

The second one is not a nice flower/plant in itself, but it is a very important one for some bird feeding.
If you google 'chardonneret jaune' you'll see the birds who feed of it, they are beautiful..
The contest had to respect the theme and we were not allowed to submit pictures of ornamental flowers.. only had to be the wild ones :p

Congratulations!

The first one is very nice, I love the colors. Though I like the 2nd one more, the leaves or thorns or spikes or whatever they are add a lot of personality to that pic.

Congratz Marie!! It's hard not to like the soft rim lighting on #2!!

The composition #1 is very sweet as well.
