Seeing how I don't touch my camera unless it's for profitable uses, I'd like to start a 365 project. The question is whether a self-portrait project or another theme would most benefit my photographic inactivity. Therefore, I ask of those of you who've done this sort of project, those of you who are planning to do this, or the spammers that lurk in this sub-forum, to choose for me.

20 fg donation for the most creative and interesting suggestion.

Get a fast growing plant, and do a 365 of it. Or get a puppy to pose for you.

Self portrait.

I think if you can take so many photos of yourself in 365 different ways, that is awesome. I think it is challenging for sure, and tests your creativity. You can pretty much include bugs/plants, random things, people, expressions, and other stuff most likely in your self portraits. :)

Random People. You said it yourself. People are the most interesting subject. Go find the most interesting people.

Or adopt a kitten and see how much it grows in 365 days :D
Well that is if you are a cat person :D

It really depends on what you like to do and how you want to do it. I think self portraits are for those who are good at "acting" like have natural expressions in front of a camera not everyone can do that at least I know I am not good at it :D
Macro of plants and invertebrates is a very neat idea IF you live in a place where you can find them during the winter.

Winter for me is fall for everyone else. Summer for me is hell on earth.

Don't do a set of self portraits. It's been done, and it's boring.
Why not do something oddball that'll get you lots of exposure?

Think along the lines of:
Terminator sex positions http://www.flickr.com/photos/51035610542@N01/sets/72157594291346788/
Stormtrooper 365 http://www.flickr.com/photos/st3f4n/sets/72157616350171741/
Classics in Lego http://www.flickr.com/photos/balakov/sets/72157602602191858/

Etc.

If it's something that's fun, and that gets you noticed, it's more likely you'll stay motivated throughout, as opposed to something that's just a technical exercise.
