Ok, as most of you know already, I am entering a photo contest (deadline October 1st) and the theme is 'Native trees and plants' (bad translation I know).

So far I have been concentrating on taking so many pictures of flowers and trees in hope of a picture that would have a little 'something' to give me a chance for that contest...
First price is 500$ to spend on photo equipment (I want a macro lens or a wide angle of some kind).
Second and third prizes are 250 $ each.

After my night shift yesterday morning, on my way home, it was a little foggy and the sun was coming up behind the fog and there was that tree in the middle of a soy field.

I really like this picture and would like your input in how I can make it better because I will submit it for sure!!!

Thanks in advance for your comments

crop it a little from the top right to create a 1/3 horizon and to compose it a little. Will it be enlarged?
Good picture btw.

Thank you
Yes I will submit a 8x10 print.
I guess when I crop I have to be careful to keep the same proportions right?
I'll try to do this later or tomorrow and see how it looks :)

8x10 makes this picture look worse than as a 4x6

nice shot. imo dont crop at all, or maybe slightly off from the left side to get the tree in the middle. its just too bad that the sun wasnt in the middle of the tree

Wow, it's amazing. The only thing I would change is if you had the chance to take the shot again, take it so that the sun is in the middle of the tree rather than a little to the side.
