I notice with alot of pictures posted here, the EXIF data has been striped off. Do you guys do that purposefully? If so.. why?

The metadata for all my pictures are intact when i upload them. I process them in lightroom and do minor adjustments then export as jpeg... which leaves the exif data on the pic itself.

Are you guys just doing it differently?

I dont, but I notice sometimes my photos on da wont have it.

I think it might depend on the level of post processing you do, maybe if you do a lot it changes the data too much?

Thats all I can think of.

I do know that if you use an online editor like the one they have on tinypic it won't save any of the exif data. You'd have to do all of the editing before you upload them

Everything comes from photoshop so it's probably been stripped there. I don't take much notice of exif data though.

If I edit it in photoshop, even the slightest bit, I noticed that it takes the data off of the photo. I wish it didn't do that, but I don't know how to fix it.

I see, i see. Weird how photoshop doesn't keep the exif intact.

Was just wondering.. i've come across some interesting pictures and i want to know how they took them.. try loading the EXIF off the photos and i fail 90% of the time.

you should just ask. I'm sure they'd be happy to give that info to you

What kind of images? Landscapes?

Exif data won't tell you how it was lit or the posing finesse involved :/

dont think it does that unless you paste or save it in a new file or from a different source.

Yeah, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't unless they don't like to help others learn.
