I am wondering if there is a setting to fix this or not...
When I check for focus I get many points...
Well, I think it's impossible to have that many focus points sometimes, when I know they are not exactly on the same distance..
Is there a way I can only have one single focus point at all times?
I hope someone can understand what I mean.....

I got the canon 500d (Rebel T1i)

and I usually don't pay much attention on what focus points blink since when I hold the camera on a tripod or something and I check for focus again, other points blink but the focus doesn't (atleast not that I notice) change.

do you also notice things you don't want when you look at the photo result?

and you can always go for manual focus or change the F stop for a different DoF.

i think its the button thats used to zoom in in preview mode, just push it while in shooting mode.

now you should see a picture in back lcd screen that has focus points and all of them are yellow. scroll the wheel or push up down left or right on the controller to change the focus point, you have auto focus point on now

I have the older model of your camera, the xti.

There is a way to only have one single focus point. On your camera you'll see a button that looks like a snowflake, or it might have two magnifying glasses by it as well. On my camera it's on the right side where I hold it, and I use my thumbs to press the buttons. There are two buttons there. To change my focus point thing, I Press the button on the end of the camera (the one that has the magnifying glass with a plus sign). And then I click the OK button to get just one point, and then you can use the arrows to move around and select one you want. Once done, press the magnifying glass button again. I hope this helps, I'm not sure if our cameras have the same setup anymore :)

you dont need to push the magnifying glass icon again, you can just push the shutter release half way to get to the shooting mode again and use the selected focus point

Did so many pictures and I was so disappointed with some of the results, which I could have avoided or fixed with that setting!!!!

Thank you all for y our responses!!!!

Seriously, I don't know what I would do without all of you!!

I'll post some pictures this week when I sort them out completely....
Some are already available on my Flickr account, but out of so many pictures, so many fails.... :(
