Another pic I took the other afternoon. This time I had the chance to sport around a Nikon D3 + 24-70 2.8 instead of the 5D.

The shot was taken in a similar manner as the last. Panoramic HDR stitching. It was probably my first attempt at this when half shooting into direct sun and the other half clear.

It was a pain to blend with the massive contrasts of light. The Nikon gear handled it all exceptionally well. So much so that I think I want to change brands I love the D3!

Very nice job lithfkn! Perfect blend of dynamic range. Pretty but not overdone where it looks fake.

Man.. i need to get photoshop so i can make these amazing photos.

Doubt i have the skills to take these photos yet though

I have two comrades that work nikon and they want to switch to canon. Maybe its a grass greener thing?

Photoshop is just the end of the process. Photomatix for the HDR blends (fuse exposures, not tonemapping) and Autopano Pro for the stitching.

Just try it out. It can't hurt.

Pick a high contrasted scene you want to shoot. Set your focal point, switch to manual. Get your middle frame correct.

1st shot @ EV 0 then do 3 stops under in 1 stop increments, then 3 stops over in 1 stop increments.

Pan left with 50% overlap. And repeat the above exposure (don't touch the focus, always leave it set to manual after your initial focus adjustment)

Repeat left until you are satisfied with the length. Then go back to the middle and pan right in the same fashion.

If you want to get tricky, repeat the above with a top layer and a bottom layer haha

Yeah, I think it's because I'm using an old 5D haha

But the D3 and D3s are amazing... The Nikon 24-70 and the Canon 24-70 are on par though.

When you write your tutorial, make sure you tell me about it! I can imagine how hawt a blurry-minus-the-couple slow shutter venue shot can be if I have the patience to do all the work and enlarge it enough to cover a whole window.

Get a MKII. I rented an old 5d just to check it out and holy shit BIG difference.

I stitched a massive panorama yesterday from a Dress Trash shoot we did a couple weeks back. It's fucking huge. I'll try get a hold of it soon and post it.
