My first attempt at a moon shot.

Heavn't seen the Moon in quite awhile here in the ATL. Tonight it popped out on a totally cloudless night, sad it isn't a full moon. But i like it however.

I'll try it again when the full moon is out with clear skys :D

I'm liking it. Seems pretty normal for a moon shot though. Still like it though.

On another note... I went and seen The Wolfman today. I also liked that, haha.

Thanks, the moon only has one face though :S, so it's the same all the time

Anyway, i wanted to go see the wolfman too.. just no free times. My friends saw it and they said it's pretty good as well. Imma see if i can find time to watch it this weekend.

Pictures of an half moon are better, the angle of the light makes craters pop out better.
You get a much more flat picture of a full moon.

Nice job on your picture.
Try to cut it so it will follow the rule of third. Place the moon a bit on the right and a bit above the center.
Just try and post it here, it will look much better!

Damn, what lens did you use? I've never been able to capture even a half decent shot of the moon on really clear nights n-n I kinda gave up on my shots.

Pretty good attempt I must say! Good job. I remember trying to get photos of the eclipse a while back, but just didn't have the right equipment to do so :(

Wow, i must admit that for a moon shot, i never consider following the rules of third because i simply thought it wouldn't work. I would thought centered is the best way to present it. After trying it out in Lightroom, I think i kinda like it. Here it is

I used my Canon 70-200 f/4L along with the Canon 1.4x mark II teleconverter, coupled with the 1.6x crop factor for my Xsi.. i got a effective focal length of 448mm. This shot is made possible with help from my tripod ofc :D

The 70-200 f/4L is sharp as a tack, even with a TC attached.. i honestly couldn't see any image quality degradation. The moon shown in the original post was a 100% crop of the file, since even with the reach i had.. the moon only occupied a small portion of the frame.

Now time to drop the money on a telephoto lens since you got a wide angle and all
