I use a D80 right now, but it's not mine. I was thinking of getting a DSLR of my own and have heard a lot about Canon being better for shooting sporting events, but I have almost no experience with Canons. Opinoins on different cameras brands for shooting sports/moving objects?

FYI: It's Canon, not cannon, its a camera, not a weapon. :D

But anyway, look for a camera that has good ISO appetite. I use a Sony A300, while it is a great camera, it is rather disappointing in the ISO area, I can only take it to about 400 ISO before I have issues. Also make sure you lenses have a small aperture number.

That's about all I can say... I have no experience with anything except Sony and Minolta.

Lol edited the "Cannons", didn't even realize I did that.

Thanks for input.

canon 1d mkII is what you should get if your looking for a good sport camera, theyr dirt cheap nowadays and beats eny camera with same price. they go for about 750-1000 used. everything else is carbage for this usage compared to this camera, unless of course you want to buy 1d mkIII or mkIV, but those cost alot more
