most real estate companies have special panoramic cameras similar to the same ones used in google streetview.. only this one is built for stationary use.

Ultimately its just a camera mounted on a tripod which captures 360 degree shots very quickly and then the shots get post processed togethe with computer software.

Many of your generic cameras have the same 'photo-stich' function on them.. but the quality can be somewhat lacking due to the camera and photostitching software

This is easily done with a tripod, camera and the proper panning head. You can read about how to do panos here: http://reallyrightstuff.com/pano/index.html (clicking on the next page you see the piece of equipment that makes panos easy).

In terms of the actual photography in the posted link, it is very poor when put to the professionals who do it full time as their means of income. If you want to see decent real estate photography check out the group pool here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/photographyforrealestate/

Like portraits of models where you must get lighting correct as well as know how to post process, taking photos of houses both inside and out is an art.

Microsoft also having a software doing the same. It is free, but I can not remember what it is called.

Photoshop

file --> automation --> photomerge

Then to make it scrollable you need to insert it into a flash application. I can't help you there. But with PS you can get something like this anyway:

shoot it in the some spot all the time where it covers the whole area and dont move the flash, like bouncing from ceiling and using off shoe cord(if its not showing). Or then put ettl off and shoot it wide area and rotate with camera.

One thing im not getting tho, is why you want to use flash when you use tripod?
