Yeah, so I'm gettin more and more interested in taking pictures.

I live in Sweden so most things will be a bit pricier than in the states.

Looking to pay anywhere between 500 SEK - 3000 SEK
70 USD -> 410 USD

any ideas of a priceworthy camera? :)

(like mainly to take landscape/city pictures - not so much portraits)

I know I cant get a good camera for this, but something worth the money

The only DSLR I can recommend from Nikon would be the entry level D40 in that price range, for about $100 more you can get the D60. (Which is a fairly large upgrade)
The D40 with a kit lens (18-55 f/3.5-5.6 lens) comes out to be about $425 USD.

I don't know a lot about point and shoot cameras or any other brand, so I can't make a good recommendation on anything else.

The D40 is such shit though... I honestly wouldn't recommend it. If you get a DSLR you need something with a full frame sensor.

Yeah, pick up camera with a full frame sensor for under $400...

Canon = 1Ds, 1Ds Mark II, 1Ds Mark III, 5D, 5D Mark II
Nikon = D3, D3x, D700
Sony = a900, a850

Which are all in the $2,000 or higher range.
Like I said, the D40 is the entry model, I would recommend the D3000 or the D60 if you have the money though.

Might be able to pick up a D80 for an excellent price as well... Being discontinued and all. I've heard people getting them for around 500 with the 18-70 kit lens.

Being a D40 owner, I'd go for a D70s used if I could do it all over again.

Sometimes ... I would check shutter actuations.

I would do a D70s if you are just getting into things and wanting to go with Nikon as your brand. It's still a decent camera and can sync at 1/500th of a second with off camera flash. That's nice in the world of lighting.

I have no reason to get a Nikon over anything else ;)

I'm not responding to everybody but this is great help I'm writing everything down for when I go buy one :)
