Alright, so which prime lens would be best for portraits/fashion photography? Well, I like my 50mm 1.8 for face portraits, but for a full body portrait, I suppose I need a longer lens..

Well, if you're to work in a studio, you'll want a lens that lets you shoot from behind the lights, so the 135 is probably the best bet. 85 might be better for the full body shots though.

On full frame I'd take 135 if you can afford it, coz I prefer little longer focals.

On 1.6 crop I would take the 100 f2, I have it since friday and I like it.

nah don't have a studio :P I can barely afford to print my pictures ^^

Why would you recommend the 85mm over the 100mm?

Not too sure, I don't know how good any of the Canon lenses are, you're shooting with a crop lens aren't you? So the effective focal length on the 85mm would be over 100 anyway.

85 is a more common focal, you can use it on a full frame and on a small sensor camara you get the equivalent of a 135, not a bad idea.

I prefer 100 one coz 85 is not in production anymore so guess in some month the 100 will be higher in value and quality is slightly better.

135 is the best of the 3.

100mm and 85mm are pretty much the same lens, they are just 15mm different.

None is really good for full body since you need to get really far from your subject.

Do you want headshots or full bodies?

Get a 50 1.8 if you want full body IMO. You should have one already, it's a great prime for $100, works out to 75mm (On nikon at least, I'm not sure what the crop factor is for Canon)

Headshots I'd probably go with the 85.

Woop someone is choosing prime over zoom, good choice!

i own a 85mm and its superb.

The 85mm is rated better than the 100mm and is more popular but really its what would suit you best. Do you not mean use a shorter lens for full body shots?
