The first one is a bit overexposed, you should have used a smaller aperture or a faster shutter speed.

Try and crop the second one a bit so there isn't as much blank space.

In the first shot its a bit over exposed as stated you could correct that with the aperture. Using your shutter speed you should have either slowed it down to create really blurry water or sped it up to stop it all together. (Note: This is in my humble oppinion.)

The second shot is fine. Its nicely composed.

I like the second one, but that grate is a bit distracting when I look at the whole thing.

As everyone has stated already, the first one is over exposed... but also - I'd take a few steps back so that the whole waterfall is visible.
Cut off a bit from the top but show the bottom of the waterfall.

I agree with this 100%.
Perhaps adjust the levels to try and fix the over exposure, you might have to go as far as;
editing the curves (Which is a little more difficult.)
Keep posting though, there's always room for improvement.
