For $450 - you can probably get a decent SLR ... a Nikon D60 is like $400.

I think you should get that Olympus. Well I don't know much about their cameras but at least it's a DSLR with a large sensor unlike the specs you posted in the first post.

That camera looks like a pos to me because of the tiny sensor so expect pictures taken at higher than ISO 200 being from noisy to super extremely mega uber noisy at around ISO 800 and higher lol.

I think the image sensor in Olympus E-volt is around 5 times larger than those in most of those point and shoot cameras.

If you really in need of a camera now you should get the Olympus but if you are willing to wait while trying to save some money I would suggest you getting Canon Rebel XSI/450D or even Nikon D80.
