hello. wonna to buy Nikon D80 or D90
what's your opinion about them?

i know d90 more better but in my country price for d90 is near 900$+ (d80 cost near 600$+)
so it's a big difference to buy the kit for 600 or 900 $ right?

any real reasons to buying d90 exept d80?

i'am new at this section. so if i'am at wrong section plz redirect me correct

i was in the same dilemma but i chose the d80 for my budget and criteria

im very happy with my d80

this url has a good comparison chart for you.

the vacuum sensor cleaning was a nice feature for the d90 as well as the larger LCD and live view.. but for a photographer... you do more time looking in the viewfinder than at the LCD screen.

to be honest.. at this price for a dslr.. get the d80 and use the extra cash for better lenses.

It's not that simple, if it were a film camera it'd be fine, but the D90's sensor is better than the D80's, so it isn't that simple. Good quality glass is all fine and well, but if the sensor isn't great, you won't get much out of the glass.

d40 or d70 ... at least as a backup - you can sync at higher speeds with your flash.
And if I had to choose a primary Nikon it'd be a D300 or if I had the money, D700 and if I had more money the D3x

But that's just me.

true enough, by the sounds of the thread maker, he is just getting into the start of slr cameras.
I would start on the d80 to get your head around the techniques of dslrs. They both are capable of producing good quality pictures.

Ive tested my glass on both the d80 and d90 and unless you are going to be printing at very large poster sizes. I would stick to the d80 because the differences are very minute at anything smaller than 20" prints.

It would be nice to get a little more insight on what features the thread maker is looking to get out of a dslr.

A camera is only as good as the images it is capable of producing, so i would start at targeting the features he's looking for in a camera.

Unless you're going to be using the video recording mode...the D80 is probably a better choice for you.

i'am looking for camera for a every day. portraits,my town,any kind of nature.
video for me not so critical but at this moment D90 got a nice "+"
no more support for d80 (but still selling) vs new d90. i don't know what is really right step from me. to buy old product with "minimum" versus Nikon d90 with his high price but with a nice functions to my future (maybe i will need any kind of functional d90 that i don't know at this moment cuz i'am really new at this).

thx for all opinions. for me it's very important to know all your info's
