Not the best shots I've taken, but I needed to get out and do something O_o. All taken with Sigma 10-20mm - so I'm still new at this baby!

5. One of the few houses left in the valley here in Moose Jaw (it's called Wakamow Valley). It has two trees that are in the middle of the house. Very pretty house and yard, very nice area to live in.


6. Another view of Wakamow valley, at the beginning. Kind of messed up on my composition a little on this one. It was dark and hard to see through the viewfinder.


7. View of Moose Jaw, I was pretty much on the outside of the city, not much light from this side

#5 and the sunset shots are really beautiful especially the reflection of the house in the water and that mysterious fire thing but I think you should have stayed clear of those branches when you took #5 and I think #3 would have looked better if you got lower on the ground so the tree would look a lot taller and magnificent. hmm and the last two photos look kinda noisy. I know you only used ISO 400 when took those but maybe you kinda underexposed them or something because your camera shouldn't take those kind of noisy pictures at lower ISO speeds :-\ Well I will receive that lens sometime next week so I am going to try to take some landscape/cityscape photos with it as well

Yeah I'm not sure why those last pictures were noisy - lol. I don't really like them anyways so it doesn't matter to me. About the trees in #5 - there was no clear area to get a nice shot without the trees, so I just kept them in the picture. With a wide angle it's hard to "take out" that kind of thing. I thought the trees looked cool nonetheless except it is a little "too much" going on in the photo.

yeah some of the branches kinda blocked the view and I am personally kinda sick of looking at those naked trees I mean it's already May and there is still no sign of greeness yet
Well I guess I will have to see for myself how hard it really is to use that lens lol. hmm did you shot the last two pics handheld? They do look nice except for the noise maybe you could use a lower ISO number and slower shutterspeed the next time

I don't shoot night photos hand held... never. I used 30 second shutter speed, and 400 ISO on those (I tried lower ISO's but it was too dark), it was pretty dark. And like Tomes said, sometimes your camera does make more noise when it's darker out. The only thing I don't like about this camera IS the noise. I could use a camera with a better sensor in the future.

It's not that hard using the lens, you just have to watch in the view finder what you're taking a picture of. I found a few of the photos that I took when I wasn't watching; one had more sky than I wanted in it. It will be nice to have it for a much summery-look outside, when it's green. One thing I noticed is that it gives really nice colors to the photos you take. Like that reflection house one I took.

Btw I think I just realized you thought the #5 (the reflection house one) was a sunset? Haha. It's actually a night photo, took it on my tripod. That sky was not even no where near those colors. I think my camera just made them up. O_o This is what I love about night photography.

hmm well I don't know if you can afford it but I saw at Don's yesterday that they have a refurbished EOS 40D on sale for 750 dollars only. It's a so much better camera than yours and if you ever decide to buy a new camera at a reasonable price this is definitely one of them you should look at.

Yeah I could imagine how hard it would be to get a good composition with such a wide lens but I am sure a tripod would make things whole a lot easier. I actually wanted to buy a carbon fiber tripod yesterday but they had all of those sold out in the morning

hmm did I actually say that the #5 is a sunset shot? Well I did believe that the last two are sunsets because of the huge light in the middle which I thought is the sun lol. hahaha I have yet to use a tripod to take some good night shots because the colors in those pictures do look amazing and I am sure nobody would have guessed they are night photos lol.

Yeah the only ones that aren't night shots are the tree ones. lol. And I am not wanting a new camera just yet, but I know I will later. I will probably get a really good one for my next camera, whether it be used or new.

I don't know if you know this but if you want to get those higher end bodies like 50D, 5D mkII and 1D series you will also need very good lenses too especially the 50D because of the very high resolution sensor.
Just look at Tomes and Astragony and those lenses they have for their cameras lol. So you may wanna start saving TODAY lol jk

Well, not quite as high as that, but underneath. If I ever go to school I will probably buy one of the MK's. But for now, this is a hobby, and a Rebel XTI is good 'nuf. Like I said, I'd rather buy more lenses instead of another camera.
