So today I had a client want their House photographed.
She re-painted the entire thing herself and wanted some photos for her portfolio to display in her business portfolio/website.

Here's one that I found somewhat artful, I liked the lines (The door arch on the right) happy.gif

And went to my Aunts today and got another nice shot of their puppy happy.gif

I like that dog pic, tones dof and the dogs expressions looks good. Maybe these just a hint bit too much room in the top of the dog pic tho

Top one- Unless the client specifically asked for curved corners, I'd leave them as normal, they don't look that great. The composition itself is ok, but isn't great.
Dog- Crop out the left side, the angled line is incredibly distracting, I like the colours, but the dog's head could have been fully in frame.

Then the frame will end just where the nose ends and will look really horrible, better to use clone stamp(and blur it after to make it smoother) on that rather than cropping

True, or just retake the shot, and get the full head in the frame.

It doesent bother me that the whole head isnt in the frame, if you want the whole head on the pic, you should get little of the neck allso, then the head of the dog will be so much smaller that it doesent look so intense. Enyways compositions being like this leaves the kinda sad looking eye to that rule of thirds spot

The eyes aren't within the targetted rule of thirds spot wink.gif
It might have been interesting to have the dog looking like that in the bottom right corner of the frame, with just the head in view, and everything else just being the blank, unbroken wall.

Im not talking about both eyes, im talking about dogs left eye because thats the eye showing and giving the expression for the dog.

The client painted, framed and designed that entire room in there.
They asked for it to show the curved door as it's one of the main points of focus in the rooms, with the designed walls and bathroom sets.

btw, the dogs eye is in top right rule of thirds...

The first one, well on the right you can see there is something but most of it is not visible, which is a bit annoying i think when you look at a picture. (and why the strange corners?)

The dog is a nice picture, i always like sepia kind of colours
