my friend erick does alot of extreme sports photography and he has a 5d mk1 has about 5-6k cliks and has been to canon for cal. and serv. and he asked me if i wanted to trade my 50d with about 200 clicks on it for his because he is interested in the fps .... i know the 5d cost about 700 or so more than mine at the purchase . the only reason im considering is the ff sensor. is it really worth the trade. id lose 3mp or so. or what im asking is will the ff sensor have enough advantages over the crop sensor i have to justify this trade? please only leave input if you have experienxe with a ff sensor canon such as a 1 series or 5d

The price on the old 5D has dropped a lot lately you can actually get one for only 600 bucks more than what a 50D cost.
I think it has to do with which lenses you have. You may will want some of those expensive L lenses to go with a 5D.

btw why did you upgrade from a 40D to 50D tongue.gif

my 40d broke and i got the 50 for a present

the 40 is at canon right now

see i dont do any sports photography really.. so i was considering it because the 5d is more of a portrait camera
just wanted some opinions on it ...if anyone thought it would be worth it.

omg! you are so lucky lol I wish someone would give me a 50D as a present hahaha.
So what's wrong with your 40D? ohmy.gif
The main LCD broke on my first 40D like 3 days after I bought it lmao but my current 40D which I have been using for a month and a half now is working perfectly, so far lol.

Well 5D and any other full frame bodies are perfect for landscape photos so if you only take landscapes then it would be perfect for you but as I said you may want/need to buy some new lenses as well so in the end you may will have to spend quite a lot of money on lenses.

ouch! That's weird I've actually taken pictures in rain with my first 40D and got it a bit wet but other than that it worked perfectly lol. I am sure you are going to want to get the 16-35 2.8L too if you want a zoom lens for landscape tongue.gif.
