that penny is different color because of the year it was made. it was during world war 2 i think, or 1, but all the copper was used for bullets so they made pennies with silver

You are getting better and better at taking those pictures I mean they are almost perfect and you actually managed to control the dof thing too. I really like #2, 4 and 5 because they are all very sharp and perfectly exposed smile.gif.
Btw do you know why that penny has this silver color? and I don't think I have seen an older Canadian quarter than from the 60s, so far sad.gif I guess I'll just have to keep looking lol.

hmm what kind of trick did you try out when taking #4?

looks kinda like if you drop pennies in film devolper for b&w film they will turn silver from the falloff of your prints

I tried the "trick" on all of them actually. I got from Tomes. He said to set it at a high f number, hold the DOF preview button, take the lens off; then I can have a better depth of field while doing reverse macro.

You might be right. I actually never looked into it.

well my family owned a newspaper for 40 years so i grew up around black and white photography. film that is. when i was a little kid i used to take a handfull of pennies and drop them in the developer for the photographic paper. the pennies attract the silver that comes off the pictures during the developing process. the silver sticks to them and then they stay that way till u rub all of it off. it only works on moderately used developer not new. the thing is when you develope a black and white print the picture is actually made up of tiny silver particles they picture is formed when little pieces of the silver come off and your photo shows up. then when it develops to a certain point you put it in stop or fix to stop any further developing. this all must be done ina dark room.

Ohhh! Holy crap haha that's neat happy.gif. I've had some experience with B&W developing in school - but had no idea it contained silver particles. Now I understand the stop mix that you had to put it in so it would stop developing - lol.

This is officially true. I realized that I have a double of this penny, and it's the exact same.

Wow so all the US pennies made in 1943 are silver??? I have US pennies from 1939, 1944 and 1945 all those are during world war two but they are all made of copper sad.gif so I guess I will need to find a penny made in 1943.

I hope you don't mind me posting something off topic because it's kinda weird and unfair that the mods closed both of your userblogs threads.

For it being so great, I thought it would have stayed in theaters way longer than a week.

I've heard that they took it out early because they had a lot of complaints about the movie... seriously, what's so bad about it? It's based on a true story; it's life.

What did you think of this movie? Did you hate it like the other people did?

It just seems weird that they took it out of the theaters just because some no life morons complained. It's a very good movie and you are right about it being based on a true story. I mean what's wrong with a movie about a mother who doesn't want to give up searching for her missing child? I guess the real life is pretty much like this forum with lots of weird and unexplainable things and unfair decisions made by the authorities lol.
