I saw an assignment in another photography forum earlier which involve taking pictures of text in a book so I decided to put an old coin near the words numismatics and numismatist in a dictionary course lately I have started to collect coins again.
When I was resizing the picture in Photoshop I saw the word to the left and started to laugh because it was so random and I didn't see it when I was taking that picture biggrin.gif. Just imagine what I would have to put there if I chose that word in this assignment laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

About the photo itself. I kinda wish that my lens has a wider aperture because at max focal length which I used to take this picture I would only be able to use f/5.6 and I am sure this picture would look whole a lot better if the depth of field is even shallower but oh well sleep.gif.
I have been strongly thinking about getting the EF 50mm f/1.4 prime lens for indoor photos like this one but I am not sure if it's good enough for close up pictures like this one... Maybe one of you guys who have or had it would be able to tell me which lens would be perfect for pictures like the one I posted here.

HAhaha, I like how everyone assumes that it's some kind of depression going on here. It's a good picture but too bad the dictionary isn't in English dry.gif

What does it being in another language have to do with it? I don't want to sound accusatory, but why is this a bad thing?

I don't know? Can't find the words to answer that one..

Maybe its the fact that if I didn't know the actual meaning of "numismatist" I wouldn't know what the coin and the book had in common.

@ Futurama - why did you cover the word with the coin?

lmao! Yeah don't you hate it when people keep assuming things lol rolleyes.gif. I for one would rather die than even considering becoming a nudist biggrin.gif.
Well thanks for dissing my dictionary tongue.gif I mean I actually brought it with me all the way from Sweden even though it's huge and heavy, JK. I know how it is like when you don't understand the stuff people post in here and I am sure I would be equally annoyed if someone posted a picture of a dictionary of a language I don't understand but this is a thephotoforum assignment and I am sure most people in that forum are old enough to know what a numismatist means tongue.gif. Anyway I hope my explanation makes sense to you since I am actually struggling hard to think straight when I am having like a 40 degree fever here sad.gif yep that's what happens when you work at the drive through in short sleeve when it's -20 outside rolleyes.gif.

I didn't cover the word numismatist with the coin I just placed it right above "numismatics" and "numismatist" and tried really hard to just focus on the word and part of the coin but as I said at f/5.6 I can't blur whole a lot that's why the other words like "nudist" are clear and visible in the picture too lmao.

OMG! hahaha I guess I am confusing everyone here but if you look again the word nudist is to the left of the coin tongue.gif and if I had a lens with much wider aperture it would probably be blurred tongue.gif
As I said I just placed the coin right above the words numismatics and numismatist.
Maybe I should have put more coins there to cover the other words lol.
