I like the atmosphere! But I think you should have placede the person to the right of the light pole.
This is handhelt right? But if you have a tripod use lower ISO. This well reduce the grainy effect.

But I like the picture. smile.gif

Thanks for the advice... Just barely bought my camera and starting to get into photography so it helps...

FYI Iso was at 400 and I was using a tripod shutter speed was slower than 1 second...

I think most of the grainy effect is the fog... This photo was taken last night and it was extremely foggy! The fog was creepy feeling so I used the lamp and my little brother to add to the creepiness...

The griny effect is not fog.
You should use lower ISO and longer shutter speed. smile.gif

You could resize the picture and the grain will be reduced a bit:

wow ur using a lot of manual settings for a new camera user!!

its pretty spooky! and if thats what you purely wanted ur photo to be, then u've managed it.

if you resize ur picture, and make it a bit smaller. the noise wont show up as much.

oh and one more thing - your nikon should have an inbuilt noise reduction feature, you should use that!

e/ yeah much better, you beat me to it Qhotex!

Pure spooky is definitely what I was going for... Manual settings is where its at! Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a good thing? I'll look for the Noise Reduction setting. I still haven't read my manual all the way lol...

IMO I use software to remove noise. I think you will get some sort of missing detail when using noise reduction which is built in.

true! if you can handle full manual go for it smile.gif

yes, as Qhotex said, software noise reduction also works. I wouldnt say software nr is better but, both will do the job biggrin.gif

disagree, i think the mist diffusing the light gives a great 'spooky' effect. tongue.gif
