Ok, I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding which DSLR to upgrade to.
(This will be my first DSLR) and I do have a $700.00 budget.

anyways, I cannot buy it online (No credit card etc)
So I have found 2 cameras that spark my interest, and have nice prices:

The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS ( http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10109189&catid= )
This camera would leave some a bit of extra money to buy a wireless trigger etc.

Or the Nikon D60 ( http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10099767&catid= )
Which would still leave me with just about enough to buy a wireless trigger.

Please help me, I'm not sure which to buy.
Please tell me which you think is better and WHY.
-Thanks! smile.gif

I suggest you take a look at Dpreview.com they got some very good camera reviews in there.

Good luck! wink.gif

get used 40d or 30d. Finding used 40d shouldnt be a problem since they just released 50d.

u could get much better camera for same price, its built better so it will prolly last on you atleast as long as that cheaper model bought new. I wouldnt suggest getting cheap nikons enyways, because af lens choises are so limited.

yeah i was thinking on that too, they have a small selection of lenses.
also the Canon rebel XS has longer battery life.

Oo... yeah, bettery life is good on the XS's. smile.gif I love mine.

Lenses is another issue.

Still, I'd go with Canon any day over Nikon.

though I love Canon as well but I wonder if he already got any lenses from either of the manufacturers
I mean if he already got Nikon lenses it wouldnt make any sense to buy a Canon.
personally I would go for either XTI or XSI than XS or D60 and save money for a good lens instead of getting an expensive wireless trigger
