Couple weeks ago I downloaded minecraft for my sons to play. I wanted to hop on and build some stuff to surprise them but it came up with this error. It still works on my other PC (I have twins so I put it on 2 systems, luckily I have 2 computers lol)
Found a lot of tips with google, and some very phishy download links that I didn't click on. Right on the top of google's search results, too!

I updated my intel graphics driver, didn't work
I deleted mc and reinstalled, didnt work
I DELTED the damn driver, reinstalled it, didn't work
I found a opengl32.dll file but it says to plop it into a Program FIles -> java -> bin -> jre or soemthing like that but that's windows 7 lingo

Direction unclear, I guess I'm a boomer now

should i revert my computer back to last week when it worked??

From a quick search, it sounds like a driver update, as you said.
It could also be an issue with the opengl.dll in the Java folder.
Can you check which drivers were recently updated?

You can do this by going into Windows Update and clicking the View Installed Update History link.

I assume this is Windows 10?
Do you have an exact date that the game last worked correctly?

if not on win 10 isnt it a free upgrade from 7?
id do that and reinstall mc

I'm on windows 10 yeah I updated the driver its up to date. Has something to do with OpenGL but idk wtf that is, it doesn't look like smoething I can just download

I don't have a folder in Program FIles called "Java" I think that fix is a win7 or 8 I have win10
I tried sticking the .dll file in the minecraftjava folder (there was also a ton of .dll files in that folder) that didn't work

this is rreally frustrating because I was playing minecraft on this system on monday. I have no idea what changed.
