last time i played was this past summer. i remember my weapon alone cost me like 4b and it wasn't even that great. might start playing again for the next month or so...are things still that expensive? is it still difficult to get money? were there any significant content updates/changes?

Good things will always be expensive.
Money is easy to come by if you work the free market and sell stuff.
Tempest came with new characters Luminous (mage), Kaiser (warrior) comes out in a few days and Angelic Burster (cannon) comes out in Jan.

i just recently came back to find that all my skills had been reset (they did some work on Level caps or EXP or something) they also got rid of secondary stat requirements on equipment.

seems they are also cracking down on hackers and dupers more often, with illegitimate item sweeps and deletes and getting rid of MTS and white scrolls.

Getting rid of MTS and white scrolls wasn't to crack down on hackers. It was getting in the way of their profit margins.

i would think they made good money from MTS since the only way you could use it is with Prepaid.
i thought it was removed because it wasn't safe and that hackers gained access to information from it, and dupers/hackers would use it to sell off there illegitimate goods.

they'd dupe in one world and transfer to all worlds. cheap equips. meaning no one is buying any cubes, or scissors since it was cheaper to buy the equips again than use nx

doesn't that prove my point that it was closed due to hackers/dupers and illegitimate items.

I'm just saying Nexon wouldn't have cared if it weren't for them losing money from it

so basically, the highly anticipated characters have been released, but other than that nothing has changed

one of the three has. kaiser is coming out soon (this week maybe?) burster is coming out early jan. (1/9 I think)

i just came back to the game and they reset all the Skill points for my 168 bowmaster imf cukin happy
