I am straight up a noob just rolled a phantom on bera and I'm not investing into dex at all. I noticed I will have some trouble wearing gear at 30 because of dex requirements but that is ok. What I want to know is when would be a good time to start buying gear that I can wear. Would I just be using low level gear for awhile until I hit a certain level that I can get alot of +dex on the pieces? I've got about 500m to start my leveling process and will probably try and get an additional 2bil or so to fund the char what would be the smartest path to get to a point where I could farm for the future? Be frugile as hell until 120+? Then buy some key pieces? What would you do? Sorry if this is an incoherent post I am writing it from my phone at work any info is greatly appreciated.

no need the fg incentive. People are just not around anymore. Most helpers ( like myself ) dont really look at Maplestory page.

You have 4 options in my opinion:
1. Wait for Tuesday. After Patch, make a Cannoneer and level to 70. Use Link skill. +15 Perm Dex there Should help alot.
2. Use Money to buy Evo Rings 1-3 and a DAB (if you can afford..) Gives a ton of base stats and are considered few of the best rings in the game. You can also buy Blue/Red Bathrobe and use 10 100% Overall dex scrolls to help.
3. Keep low level gear up. It won't take long if you stick with it to hit 120+. EMP Gear is all you need otherwise. If you want to splurge on TONS of money, you won't even need more Dex cuz most godly gear are 'common' items and don't need dex. Empress is the cheaper way to get Nice Damage for less. Of course you can get godly EMP items but thats a bit harder.
4. Wait for who knows when for the 2nd stat requisite to be removed.

Overall, all you need right now is a weapon. Nothing else, till you hit higher levels. Renegade is almost over but if you could get the lvl 80-120 Renegade weapons, I'd advise you to do so ASAP. They are 1stat Requirement Equips and are also the best stats for their levels.

Considering your budget to be around 2.5bil, I'd do this.
1. Talking witch hat scrolled with helmet dex
2. EVO rings I, II, III
This should be enough dex for awhile.
If you need more, make a cannoneer for link skill 15 all stat, or get a dex bathrobe(I hate these bathrobes, so useless) like wat TsukiBaki said

Use maple weapons

At like 75 buy a targa or scar helmet (%luk obv) scrolled with helmet dex
This will replace your witch hat

Or, you can wait til 100 or something and buy a czak
At 120 u can buy an htp or chtp

Your top, bottom, shoes, cape, etc. should be %luk scrolled with dex or luk scrolls

I wouldn't think of investing into empress gear until you're pretty rich.

Talking witch hat? May as well just pay a bit for Zak Run. Guildies ETC would do it too if he's in a guild. ZHelms are simple to come by.

If he's new, he wont find maple weapons. Probably at all. FM is not a good reassurance either.

I had Full Emp Gear early on and they don't have any good pot. I do more damage than tons of people and the budget is low as crap. He's also a phantom so Cape isn't hard at all. The Cane ofc is expensive. Total amount for full EMP(Excluse Weapon) cost around 300m or less! Ofc depending on the economoy. Khaini isn't as crazy as Bera and Scania and even then funding for Khaini for EMP gear is totally cheap. You get Equips for less than 30mil each. Overall being a tad bit more. For Phantom, the Cape would only Cost at most 150m-200m. You can hit 200 just from 5/6 EMP gear alone. Settle down with Full Rising Sun if needed for that huge boost in stats (Full should cost almost 1bil). My lvl 200 Mercedes has FUll Rising Sun and Full EMP. Total net worth is only about 3-5Bil. You don't need much unless you want to be godlike.
