The way I view 140+ is, you kill one mob over and over for hours and level once. Also, it starts becoming more focused on merchanting, and making money to get good gear, then actually leveling up. In the lower jobs, you level so quickly that gear isn't a big deal. I like hunting down good loot in other games, but in MS, the only way to get good items it seems is to merchant and get nx. Neither of which I want to do.
No. If you take hours to level once, you're just bad. More focused on merchanting? No There's plenty of other things you can do. Making money to get good gear is always a concept of any MMO you play. Look at WoW. All you do is hit max level and spend countless hours just trying to get better gear. It's dependent on why you're even playing.
Low level gear isn't a big deal? You obviously haven't played much obviously. People pay like mad for good low level gear all the time. Otherwise making lvl 0-69 equipment would be useless. I personally make money off lvl 40 gear. Lots of it.
Hunting down good loot? You realize it's the same as grinding specific monsters to get loot right? Right.
Sure as I have said. Merchanting and NX is the fastest way to get rich and get godly. Most mmo's especially Nexon, induce this because $$$$$$$ involved. But I don't blame them. A company is a company. But it's not the only option. If you enjoy progressing through own gains then you specifically earn my respect. But complaining about how other methods are applicable and chosen from other people is lol to me.
Since you probably didn't bother to look at the other thread I posted in, I will repeat what you can do to make money very well:
1. LHC has Crocky Helmets. Collect 200 to gain 5-15m+ Dependent on servers. Do this long enough, you will earn a ton of money and hit 160/165 in no time.
2. Have fun discovering and playing with the professions. Mining/Herbalism , Smithing, Accessory crafting, and Alchemy. You could even sell the materials you gain from Mining/gathering herbs.
3. Use #2 to make money. It's a great way to boost your traits, make money from nothing. Enjoy variety. (Unless you become those people, but its boring to mine, collect herbs, etc. Its a fucking MMO. You will always have these sorts of stuff.)
4. Go Bossing. Helping others do Zak runs can also bring you money. People often look for skillbooks and rather pay cheaper for a zak run than an SOK sale (duh.) You can also kill Horntails/Chaos Horntail at a higher level, and sell their Pendants. It's a given that later bosses will = more profit.
5. Maplestory has events always and always will. Currently Tempest Update is here. And will be here for another whole month. You can farm Tempest Coins, try out the new events, gather collectibles and more. You can even use it to gain profit (Tempest Equips ++)
6. Questing, Monster Drops. You need to study for this obviously. MDTs drop Angelic Blessing Ring Recipe, You can make or sell the recipe for money and of course there's plenty of other drops as well. Same concept with quests.
Maplestory actually has a vast variety of ways to enjoy a game. People just look at Maplestory as a grindfest, because they BELIEVE that's the only thing they can do. Most people are actually like this with Maplestory.
"There's nothing to do but grind!!!" "There's all these stuff, but. There's no reason to do that, I have to get stronger and level more!" "Fuck, that takes too long! I want to be lvl 200 now!"
Anyone who say these things are retarded. Play any MMO, it's the same. Especially the people who play other MMO. Progress in strength makes people like a game. Which is why people see Maplestory as boring. You said 3rd job is best, I assume its cuz you level the fastest at 3rd job. Exponential growth is a fact (unless you're just new / are a noob).
