Where do you determine your MMR?
*Edit*
Just did some research. Apprently Blizzards MMR is not public and there's only 1 accurate way to guesstimate MMR, and thats through uploading replays to HOTS logs? Or am I mistaken?
Hotslogs is your best guess at your MMR. With that being said....it has a flaw. The one flaw is that not everyone uploads.
If not for that....hotslogs would be 100% accurate. People try to argue that they use a different algorithm (which may or may not be true) but the bottom line is when using an MMR system like ones used for popular video games it's pretty realistic to expect that someone intelligent enough to write a program expressing that algorithm would also be intelligent enough to decipher which mathematical equation would be most likely to get used by a company like ATVI.
Anyway, hotslogs issue of "not everyone recording games" is really only capable of making large errors for people who play at a lower MMR. This is because it is the lower MMR players who don't record.
Almost all high MMR players record their games (because top player want to track their progression) and realistically only 1 person per game needs to upload that game....and it uploads for all 10 people who were in it.
MMR doesn't really matter until you get rank 1 as t9x stated though, because before rank 1 there are 49 different metrics that tell you where you stand relative to the population.
