i understand situations where you want to keep moving to avoid other heroes skill shots and such, but the people I watch just spam click the shit out of everything almost constantly. times I don't understand it are when they are running to an objective or clearing a minion wave. in the case of clearing a minion wave without any of the other team in your lane it just seems silly to waste the time moving and not attacking he minions.. as far as I know if you are moving at least with a range character you aren't attacking unless I am mistaken. is it just habit or is there something I don't know that I should be doing?

obviously I am constantly on the move during team fights and when people from the other team are close by to try to avoid skillshots, but if I am just soaking in a lane I don't bother clicking at all and just sit and auto attack because I am lazy and don't see the point of clicking so much.

When someone comes in to gank you with a skillshot (or even just attack you with one) it is a lot easier to dodge it if you're already moving when they show up on your screen. Especially if you are moving around inbetween your minions.

I get that, but just as a more extreme example your team dominates the other team so no one is even alive to avoid they still do it. just out of habit at that point I suppose..

yup, it is a good habit to get into.

Ya, it's a good habit to get into and with hots being a moba with so little vision and so much movement speed with mounts, you never know when somebody is going to gank you or attack you. Once you get into the habit of doing it you won't even realize you are doing it.
