Is Kharazim viable at all? I consider myself to be a decent player but he feels terrible. I think the last thing a support wants to do is be forced to attack to heal.

Absolutely. He works well with the double warrior meta that has been floating around the last couple months in NA. He see's a lot of play since Uther has such a high ban rate, Tass/Tyrande can't reliably solo heal, and rhegar/lili aren't very good healers in high tier play. (Lili is good in HL though unless you play vs actual good players).

If you only soloq HL on low MMR better stay away from him.
He needs coordination you lack in low mmr.

of course by this logic, play lili 100% and go serpent build (healing ult). You'll win more than you do already, assuming the above applies.

Basically if our team doesn't pick a support I usually try to grab one. I have Uther but I'm not pro enough to handle 10 hot keys in this game so I usually grab Tyrande or Khaz. Been wanting to try out Tass now though

That and because Malf and Lilli ults heal everybody so lack of focus comes in handy.

What you need in high mmr play is focus to remove the most relevant heroes first, that's why uther is so broken. You engage hard uther turns you immortal when you are low HP and heals you and you removed 1-2 annoyances.

Tass shield boost removes the risk of not hitting the target even it's weaker.

I have fun with tass man. Easy to play/soak/lanepush and decent in team fights

Good then you keep playing Tass and I play Kael/Zera/Johanna

My battlenet is freaking out after that patron nerf. Can't play anything and it won't update any of the games
