That would be cool actually. I told my brother a few weeks ago I thought it would be cool if we got some D2 NPC's introduced at some point. I was thinking about like the act 2 guy you could get your merc from or something but that's mostly cause I can't hardly remember anything about D2 anymore. Akara is a way better idea though.

Yeah that's certainly true for this first influx of Diablo heroes, but they said that the next few months are going to be all about Diablo...which means it's pretty likely that the next few months after that will be Starcraft....and then after that Warcraft (with possibly a couple other heroes from their lesser known titles thrown in).

Once this is finished...they may "start over" and do another Diablo themed release...which might be for some of the lesser known guys like we are talking about. I dunno...it's hard to say since there are SO MANY possibilities for heroes. I could see them adding an additional 100-150 heroes over the next 3-5 years (assuming game stays popular) and there would still be fans who are upset that hero X hasn't been added yet.
